"Strange Magic," a new animated film, is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion.User Reviews
Poor choice for children, target audience 10-13 year old girls.
This is a musical set
around a romance. There is not enough action or youthful dialog to make
it entertaining for the younger crowd unlike many animation films that
have appeal at many levels.
It is loosely related to a Midsummers Night Dream which does not mean it is in anyway edifying.
It is a very beautiful movie to watch, the characters and colors are wonderful and they do a nice job with the various creatures. The dialog is poor and most of the communication comes from the lyrics form whatever old song is being sung.
I would skip it and if you have an interest watch it cheaply in a few months.
The only group that this will appeal to is 10-13 year old girls and older women who were teens when the music in the movie was popular and even then the appeal will be a hard sell
